Insert a new element at a specific index in the given linked list. The index is 0 based, and if the index is out of the list‘s scope, you do not need to do anything.

Examples:

-> 2 -> 3 -> null, insert 4 at index 3, --> 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> null

-> 2 -> null, insert 4 at index 0, --> 4 -> 1 -> 2 -> null

public class Solution {
  public ListNode insert(ListNode head, int index, int value) {
    // Write your solution here
    if (head == null || index < 0) {
        return head;
    }
    int length = getLength(head) ;
    //corner case: index out of list‘s scope
    if (length < index) {
        return head ;
    }
    ListNode dummy = new ListNode(0);
    ListNode curr = dummy ;
    dummy.next = head ;
    int counter = 0 ;
    /*
         1 -> 2 -> 3-> null insert @ index = 1
    d/c-->
         c
    */
    while(curr != null ){
        if (counter == index) {
            ListNode newNode = new ListNode(value);
            ListNode temp = curr.next ;
            curr.next = newNode ;
            newNode.next = temp ;
            break ;
        }
        curr = curr.next ;
        counter++;
    }
    return dummy.next ;
  }

  private int getLength(ListNode head){
    if (head == null) {
        return 0;
    }
    ListNode curr = head ;
    int res = 0 ;
    while(curr != null){
        curr = curr.next ;
        res++;
    }
    return res ;
  }

}
