英国热量单位（British Thermal Unit），1BTU约等于251.9958卡路里（calorie）=0.293瓦特时（watt-hour）=1.055千焦（killojoule）
1BTU就是在每平方英寸14.696磅的大气压下，将1磅纯水从59华氏度升温至60华氏度所需要的热量。
Btu是英热单位（英制），Btu/h就是“英热单位每小时”， 由于 1(英热单位) = 1055.056(焦)，而 1瓦特 = 1焦/秒。 所以 1(英热单位每秒) = 1055.056(瓦特)，把秒换为小时就是: 1英热单位每小时 = 1055.056/3600 = 0.293071(瓦)。 所以一台 (BTU/H) 为10000的空调功率为 10000*0.293 =2.93(千瓦)。
