At first, I want to thank Austin that he gave us a different experience. His western humor makes the class active and his interesting teaching method makes knowledge easier to harvest.
I‘m sorry for hand in the course feeling till now beacause of some many other assignment and work. But thanks to today‘s experience as an intern, I have more ideas about software project management.
The first thing the HR told us is the kind of employees they want must be creative and communiative because when they do a project, the most of time is not used to code but to communicate to others to understand the tech-requirment and to delivery.
The second thing the HR told us is that we wil write much more documents than codes to accomplish a project. After every step, there need to be documents to present which are used to make others easily understand, to make sure the security, to save as archives.
During the Austin‘s course, we have learnt negotiation which is an essential communicating skill. We have also learnt the PIW, RIO. And accordng to Mr Wang‘s course, we have learnt the requirment management, configuration management and build management, including many kinds of tools. I think all of them will be very useful.
In this term, I also have another class named Mobile Platform Development. The final froject is to develop an Android App by 2-people team. The biggest trouble I have met is how to update the version. We developed a part of the project respectively and found it took much time to integrate.
In conclusion, the software project management is a useful class which I love very much.
