SYNOPSIS
wc [OPTION]... [FILE]...
wc
[OPTION]... --files0-from=F
DESCRIPTION
Print newline, word, and byte counts
for each FILE, and a total line if more than one FILE is specified.
With
no FILE, or when FILE is -, read standard input.
-l, --lines
print the newline counts
-w, --words
print the word counts
-c, --bytes
print the byte counts
-L, --max-line-length
print the length of the
longest line

[root@localhost tmp]# cat 1.txt

[root@localhost tmp]# wc 1.txt
3 12 100 1.txt
[root@localhost tmp]# wc -l 1.txt
3 1.txt
[root@localhost tmp]# wc -w

[root@localhost tmp]# wc -c 1.txt
100 1.txt
